Bonaire's entire coastline is a national marine park, and the reef begins a few steps off the beach. Kralendijk fronts one of the best-preserved fringing reefs in the Caribbean; the uninhabited islet of Klein Bonaire, minutes offshore, has water clarity that borders on the absurd. Divers and snorkellers consider it sacred ground.
