Iceland is the most otherworldly shoreline in Europe. From colourful Reykjavík, the Golden Circle strings together a continental rift, the original Geysir and the thundering Gullfoss; the Westfjords around Ísafjörður are sheer, remote and barely peopled. Black-sand beaches, basalt cliffs and steaming geothermal lagoons do the rest.
