Norway's fjords are the headline event of any Northern Europe voyage, and no photograph quite prepares you. The ship threads between kilometre-high cliffs laced with waterfalls, the water mirror-still below, villages no bigger than a church and a jetty. It is scenery best watched in silence, from the rail, for hours.
