Panama Canal

Between two oceans in a single day.

DestinationsPanamaPanama Canal

A full-day transit of the Canal's locks and jungle lakes, engineering as theatre.

Transiting the Panama Canal is one of travel's great spectacles, and a full day on deck. The ship is raised 26 metres in a staircase of locks, close enough to watch the lock walls slide by, then crosses jungle-edged Gatún Lake with the rainforest and its howler monkeys pressing in, before stepping back down to the far ocean. Onboard narration explains it as it unfolds.
