Casablanca

The Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic.

An Art Deco–meets–Moorish city and the gateway to Marrakech.

Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque is the reason to be here, among the largest in the world, its minaret the tallest, half of it built out over the Atlantic with a glass floor above the sea. The city blends Moorish detail and 1930s French Art Deco; Rick's Café plays its part. For many it is also the long gateway day-trip to Marrakech.
